In the meanwhile...
I appreciate everyone who is still rocking with me here on the Substack! Sometimes in the midst of doing, I forget to tell people what I’ve been up to. So let’s catch up?!
We’re over halfway through 2025, and I made a commitment at the start of the year to make this one all about collective work. This has quietly been one of the most productive years of my life in music, and by the end of this summer we’ll be starting the roll out on a few of the albums that we’ve been working on all year. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it. The only thing I can say now is I’ve been producing music for 5 different projects, and I’m only a primary vocalist on one of them. More on that very soon!
In the meanwhile… I recently had a conversation with my friend Marcus Harrison Green (you may know his incredible work from The Stranger, or as a founding member of the South Seattle Emerald and Hinton Publishing) and Nora Kenworthy (Professor, writer, author of Crowded Out: The True Costs of Crowdfunding Healthcare) for their podcast “In The Meanwhile”, which as they put it “is a podcast for anyone trying to survive the slow-motion apocalypse without losing their soul (or their sense of humor).”
We talked about grief and music, from Lovework to From the Ashes of Our Homes, what the Southend taught us about solidarity work, and some of the thoughts going into the second annual Palestine Will Live Forever festival, coming up September 13th at Volunteer Park in Seattle, WA! More on that soon as well… but in the meanwhile, you can listen to our conversation here on Apple, YouTube, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.
