On today’s episode of Worldwide Underground my guest is Khingz! A legend in South Seattle, one of the best emcees I’ve ever heard, and someone who I have been blessed to make music with for my entire adult life. Earlier this year, we released two albums on the same day, that tell a bigger story when you play them back to back.
Congrats to both of you for making such great albums this year! I'm glad you had Khingz as your "accountability partner" and I'm glad you two have that kind of relationship, it's obvious how much authenticity and integrity is there and how you both delight in the ability to encourage each others' growth. Both the albums are ultimately so positive and healing; I think anyone who has sat down with their own trauma and tried to work through it and heal has to deal with their extreme safety and security needs due to having been not safe, and both albums speak to that, the journey of healing and finding home. Thank you so much both of you! Don't know if you noticed the synchronicity in the episode before this being Saul Williams saying what I want you to get out of my art is me and the following interview being Khingz, who opens his album with Nina Simone saying I want you to have to get me......
